Joe Bradford Shoemaker, 84, of Amarillo, died Sunday, July 14, 2002.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Trinity Baptist Church with Dr. David Evans of the church officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery with military rites by DAV Chapter 26 of Amarillo. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell St.

Mr Shoemaker was born Nov. 11, 1917, in Godley and moved to Amarillo in 1958. He worked most of his life in the auto repair industry. He served in World War II as a Navy deck gunner on the USS Colorado.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Case Harlow; two brothers; and a sister.

Survivors include his wife; seven children, Don Case and Mike Case, both of Granbury, Ricky Shoemaker of Springfield, Ore., Dorothey Pearce of Cleburne, Cindy Stewart of Katy, Frances Strickland of Glen Rose and Melissa Graser of Canyon; four sisters, Ann Bridges, Bobby Logan, Lotty Bell Snider and Mary Lou Cornelius, all of Fort Worth; 25 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund, 1608 Wolflin St., Amarillo, TX 79109.
