Mrs. Ruby Shrum ended her life Wednesday evening by drinking Lysol. No motive for the act has been determined by Clarence V. Simon, coroner, and police officers who have been investigating.

Mrs. Shrum was found at her home, 748 High street, at 9:10 o'clock Wednesday evening by Minnie Rockwell who lives at the same address.

Miss Rockwell, in coming through the gate noticed Mrs. Shrum lying in front of the open door of the house. In going to the door to inquire what was the trouble, Miss Rockwell noticed Mrs. Shrum's condition and called for a doctor. Mrs. Shrum died soon after first aid was administered, the poison having gained too much headway.

Mrs. Shrum was about 25 or 26 years of age and a waitress. She was not working at the time, however, except to take care of the place where she lived.

Little is known of her relatives, except that her mother livers in Oakridge. Authorities had not been able to get in touch with the mother by Thursday afternoon.
