Cynthia Jean (Cindy) 45 years, tragically on August 20, 2007. Devoted mother of Bobby Lewis. Loving daughter of Maureen Libby and Thomas & Betty Libby. Best friend and baby sister of Becky Gionet, Arlene & Rick Marier, Pat & Mary Gionet, Tammy & John Lewis and Tim Libby of Penticton, BC. Former wife and friend of Bob Lewis and his children Tina & Renee. Favourite and funniest auntie of many nieces and nephews. Dear niece of Colleen Thorne and Terry & Marlene Dean. Predeceased by her grandparents Gramma & Papa Dean, Stanley Robert Libby & Margaret Cleator. Cindy was loved by many friends too numerous to mention. She was a dedicated Union Steward with the Teamsters Union, Local 880. Cindy will be lovingly remembered for her sense of humour, love of life and her contagious laugh.
Cynthia was taken from us by an industrial accident in Windsor, Ontario. She had been pinned by a coil of steel estimated at between 3,500 and 5,000 pounds. She's a fantastic lady," said Teamster Local 880 business agent Dan DiGiovanni. "As big a heart as anyone you'll find. She was very involved and everyone who knew her here is devastated. She was very well known. A lot of people are very upset today."

DiGiovanni said Libby had the highest seniority at the plant, which has about 80 employees, and begun to assume a leadership role at the shop soon after beginning her employment there. He described her as "an awesome lady" with a good sense of humour who will be missed as a leader and friend.
