He was a farmer and member of Lepanto Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Hyde Blackwood.
Survivors include four daughters, Martha Ford of Lepanto, Freda Armer of Scottsdale, Ariz., Patsy McClain of Lepanto, Faye Hill of Memphis; one sister, Elsie Blackwood Smith of Medon, Tenn.; 14 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held in the Murphy Funeral Home. Burial was in Potter Memorial Cemetery at Lepanto.
