In Brookfield, N. Y., March 7th, Mrs. Hannah Whitford, widow of Dea. Wm. Whitford, and daughter of Nathan and Sarah Clarke, aged 73 years, 9 months, and 5 days. Sister Whitford was born in Hopkinton, R. I. At the age of six years, she with her parents moved to Brookfield. At eighteen she professed religion and united with the 1st Seventh-day Baptist Church of Brookfield, of which she remained a worthy member until death, being a term of fifty-five years. During a painful and protracted illness of six months, she manifested a Christian fortitude and resignation to the Divine will, often expressing a firm confidence and trust in the promises of God, and the hopes of a blessed immortality. Her funeral was attended at the 2d Seventh-day Baptist Church. Discourse by Eld. Eli S. Baily, from Heb. iv, 9: "There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God."
