Mrs. Judy Ann Lackey Adams, age 70, of Austin, Indiana formerly of Bennington entered this life on September 29, 1949 in Montgomery, West Virginia. She was the loving daughter of the late William Howard and Ruth Katherine Kelly Lackey. She was raised all over but later the family resided in Fortville, Indiana and she received her GED there. Judy was devoted to her faith and a faithful member of the Austin Pilgrim Holiness Church. She was united in marriage to James Brian Adams on September 9, 2007 in Fairbanks, Alaska. She resided in Bennington, Indiana from March 2011 to 2018 when her husband died. She had worked at Fred Meyers Stores in Fairbanks in retail sales for 10 years. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning, crocheting and studying her Bible. Judy died on Monday, June 1, 2020, at 5:27 p.m. at the Scott Memorial Hospital in Scottsburg, Indiana.
A LOVING FAMILY
Judy will be missed by her loving sister, Deborah Lackey of Terre Haute, Indiana; her brothers, James Lackey and his wife, Cindy of Green Cove Springs, Florida, John Lackey of California; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, William Howard Lackey, her mother, Ruth Katherine Kelly Lackey, her husband of 11 years, James Brian Adams, died March 31, 2018, and her nephew, William Joseph Shay.
FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, June 8, 2020, at 11:00 a.m., by Pastor Mike Brown at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre-Hanover Chapel, 278 East Main Street in Hanover, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Slawson Cemetery in Bennington, Indiana.
VISITATION
Friends may visit Monday from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre-Hanover Chapel, 278 East Main Street in Madison, Indiana.
