OBITUARY.
Mary, wife of Alexander Campbell, died at the family home in Missouri township, Brown county, Ill., about 9 o'clock on Saturday morning, February 2nd. It will be remembered that she fell and sustained injury to a hip not long since and this injury, combined with other ailments, hastened her death. Mary, daughter of Thomas Clark, was born in Logan county, Kentucky, April 21st, 1819, and was united in marriage with her surviving husband Dec. 27th, 1838, and with him came to Brown County, Ill., in 1840, and united with the Christian church, in 1845, since which date she has been a faithful, devoted and zealous member. She was one of the pioneer women of the county, and a friend indeed to all who needed aid and cheer, and her many noble Christian and personal traits will be long and kindly remembered. Besides her husband, four children survive, namely: Susan, wife of J.W. Singleton, A. J. and John Campbell, of Brown county, Ill., and W. Campbell, Henry county, Mo. The funeral took place from the family residence, at 11 o'clock last Sunday forenoon.
