Catherine Teresa Donahue Marrs, 84, a custom shade designer for Marrs Shade Shop and a devout Christian, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Oct. 1, 1998, in Hurst.

Pallbearers: Neil Blacknall, Tony Blacknall, Bill Feild, Ken Feild, Jason Giltner and Mike Giltner.

Memorials: Missionaries of Charity Inc., in memory of Mother Teresa of Calcutta, in care of Sister M. Mira, 2704 Harlandale Ave., Dallas, Texas 75216.

Catherine Marrs was born in Fort Worth on Dec. 17, 1913. She graduated from Mount Carmel Academy and married Thomas Long Marrs in 1935. She supported her husband in his business enterprises and was actively involved in a number of civic organizations. Her real love, however, was working to help the parochial schools and her church.

She was known and recognized as a tireless worker within the Catholic community, serving in a number of different ministries. For a number of years before she herself became ill, she served in a special ministry to those confined to hospitals and nursing homes in the Fort Worth area. To her family and friends, she was always there in times of need to offer help and encouragement, always ready to open her heart and go the extra mile. She left a legacy of devotion to God and family that will bewith us always.

She was the widow of Thomas Long Marrs.

Survivors: Son, Thomas John Marrs; daughters, Barbara Blacknall, Margaret Feild and Eileen Giltner; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
