Services at the John T. Stansbury Funeral Home. Interment in Baltimore Cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. ABBIE R. ARMSTRONG, a former college teacher, will he held at the Stansbury Funeral establishment. Mrs. Armstrong, who was 89, died Saturday in Maryland General Hospital after an illness of three weeks. Born in New Orleans, she attended schools there before she was graduated from Newcomb College. She studied for and received her M.A. degree there, and subsequently taught there for eight years before her marriage in 1907 to the late James W. Armstrong.

Mr. Armstrong was a filtration engineer who helped design the water filtration systems in both New Orleans and Baltimore before his death in 1953. The Armstrongs came to Baltimore in 1912.

Until her death, Mrs. Armstrong was active in St. Mark's Methodist Church. Before joining St. Mark's she had taught Sunday School and participated in the women's activities at Eutaw Place Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Grace Sherwood, Manchester, England, and Helen T. Armstrong, Vineland, NJ, and a son, Frank R. Armstrong, Baltimore.
