Zamilee "Lee" Banta, 67, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2003, at IU Medical Center. She was a resident of Edinburgh.
She was born Feb. 11, 1936, in Whitesboro, Ky. Her father was Dewey Hampton. Her mother is Bonnie (Caudill) Hampton of Hope. She married Kenneth Banta on Feb. 2, 1954, in Jeffersonville. He preceded her in death June 19, 1996.
Other survivors include two sons, Brian E. Banta of Taylorsville and Mark A. Banta of Edinburgh; four sisters, Rosa Deal of Indianapolis, Betty Dodd of Taylorsville, Wilma Jean Harden of Nashville and Brenda Forgey of Columbus; and four brothers, Bill Hampton of Rugby, Darrel Hampton of Fountain Hills, Ariz., and Dale Hampton and Ron Hampton, both of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert H. Hampton.
She was employed by Banta Advertising Co. as a sales representative.
The Rev. Harvey Weaver will conduct a service at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Myers Funeral Service, Reed & Jewell Chapel, 3729 25th St. in Columbus. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
