L.B. Johnson, 55 long identified with Bradley County politics, died at his home in Warren on August 26 following failing health during the past two years.

He was born January 8, 1881 at Ingalls, where he lived until 1911, when he married Mrs. Effie Sloan. He taught in the rural schools of Bradley County many years, later moving to Warren. Where after holding minor offices he served as Circuit Clerk for several years. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Besides his wife he is survived by one son, L.B.Johnson,Jr; one stepson, Clyde Sloan, One step daughter, Mrs. J.J. Edwards, four sisters, Mrs. Mike Baker and Mrs. Mollie Sharp of Ingalls; Mrs. George Brown of Corinth, Mrs. Mattie York; six brothers: Johnnie, Lester, Carroll, Jordan and Sam Johnson of Ingalls, and Jim Johnson of Blytheville.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at Union Hill Cemetery by Rev. L. E. N. Hundley, pastor the the First Methodist Church.

Pall bearers were: Active, Roy Morgan, Harvey Rowland, Audrey O'Rear, Earl Temple, B.L.Beasley, and Claude Greenwood; Honorary, Steve Andrews, T.B. Beard, G.B. Colvin, D.A. Bradham, and M. O. McClendon.
