Amy Danette Widney, age 43, of Hillsboro, W.Va., passed away March 19, 2020 in Huntington, W.Va.

She was born October 2, 1976 at Morgantown, W.Va., a daughter of Harry Douglas Widney and Linda Jean Foe Simmons.

Amy was a 1994 graduate of Pocahontas County High School where she was cheerleader, played in the band and ran track. She was active in 4-H All Stars. After high school Amy attended Fairmont State College and Beckley School of Massage Therapy. She was a member of Oak Grove Presbyterian Church in Hillsboro.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Harry and Dallas Widney and maternal grandfather, Winfred Foe.

She is survived by her parents, Harry Douglas Widney (Kaye) of Mebane, NC and Linda Jean Foe Simmons (Eugene) of Hillsboro, W.Va., maternal grandmother, Maxine Foe of Cass, W.Va., and brothers, Evan Douglas Widney (Molly) of Hillsborough, NC, David Michael Simmons (Allison), of Snowshoe, W.Va., Dustin Eugene Simmons and Nathan Daniel Simmons, both of Hillsboro, W.Va.; also surviving are nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

The plans have changed to a funeral service on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Arbovale, with Rev. Andy Rice officiating. Her ashes will be interred in the Arbovale Cemetery.

Refreshments will be served at the funeral home following the service.

Strict Covid-19 rules will be observed.
