Our beloved Carolyn Elizabeth Conway, born on June 1, 1937 in the town of West, Texas passed on April 8, 2020 at her home in Richardson, Texas.

A lifelong practicing Catholic, Carolyn graduated from Our Lady of Good Counsel High School and immediately entered into the St. Paul School of Nursing. She graduated in 1957 as a registered nurse. While working at St. Paul Hospital, she met and married Leo E. Conway on May 3, 1958 at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Oak Cliff, Dallas, Texas. She took time off from nursing to raise a beautiful family of four sons and three daughters. A dedicated nurse, Carolyn returned to nursing and completed her career at Doctor’s Hospital. She was a 23 year survivor of breast cancer and died of congestive heart failure. She will be buried at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

Additionally, Carolyn loved practicing her Catholic faith and she was a fantastic self-taught chef cranking out thousands of delicious and nutritious meals and desserts for her beloved family and friends over her lifetime. She also enjoyed the companionship of a number of furry friends, vacationing with her family in Pensacola, Florida, working crossword puzzles, tennis, fine red wine and music of all genres.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Joseph R. and Jewel Christine (Barak) Podsednik, daughter, Catherine Marie Conway, and her son, Richard Joseph Conway.

She is survived by her husband, Leo E. Conway of Richardson, Texas; children Michael Conway and wife Julie of Lantana Texas; David Conway of Farmers Branch, Texas; Valerie Conway Sledge of Richardson, Texas; Phyllis Conway and husband Jim Tuley of Dallas, Texas; and Walter Conway and wife Kristin of Longmont, Colorado and seven grandchildren. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, friend and nurse. Carolyn will be greatly missed by many.
