Louis was born September 19, 1924 in Masonville, Iowa, the son of Louis and Eloide Williamson (Gill). Immediately following his high school graduation he was drafted in the United States Army and was a World War II Veteran. He married Ermadel Eckheart on September 28, 1947 in West Union, Iowa. She passed away July 13, 2005. Louis had been employed at Sheller Globe (tool & die) in Iowa City. Following his retirement in 1986 he volunteered at the Iowa City Senior Center. He was also very active in the Voices of Experience Chorus and the Old Capitol Barber Shop Choir. Louis attended the Gospel Hall in Marion.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sister Rotha Pratt.
