Theresa Rudnick, 87, Anamoose, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey.

Theresa Christine Prom was born September 30, 1932 to Laurence and Edith (Yeadicke) Prom in Harvey, ND. She attended rural school and St. Cecilia Catholic School before graduating from Harvey High School as a 16-year-old in 1949. After graduation, Theresa attended Minot State Teachers College (now MSU) where she received her teaching certificate, going on to teach for three years in rural one-room schools around the Harvey area. It was during this time that she met Matthew Rudnick and the two were married on September 13, 1955 at St. Cecilia’s in Harvey. They made their home in Anamoose where Theresa dedicated her life to parenting their four children and instilling in them a love of learning and proper grammar. Matt passed away on April 23, 2019.

Theresa was a member of St. Francis-Xavier Catholic Church and Altar Society of Anamoose. Her training as a teacher came back into play as she directed the religious education program for St. Francis Xavier for 25 years. She also served on the parish council, sang in the church choir, and served as a Eucharistic minister. Theresa was an avid gardener, a voracious reader, and a talented craftswoman. She enjoyed sewing, needlework, ceramics, drawing, knitting, and crocheting. She was active in both the Anamoose Garden Club and Ideal Homemakers Club. Music was a source of great enjoyment and she sang along to all she did.

Theresa is survived by her children, Mike (Connie) of Anamoose, Tom (Jodi) of Blooming Prairie, MN, Harold of Minneapolis, MN, and Sylvia (Robert) Hoke of St. Paul, MN; seven grandchildren, Mindy, Katie (Brian), Sara (Robbie), Scott (Janessa), Morgan, Mathias, and Andreas; seven great-grandchildren, Landon, Nolan, Michael, Aubrie, Emily, Eva, and Oliver; brothers, Greg (Pat) Prom, Tony (June) Prom, Al (Bev) Prom, Pat (Carol) Prom, Tim Prom, and Terry (Veronica) Prom; sister, Susan Sullivan; sister-in-law, Lynn Prom; and many nieces and nephews.

Theresa was preceded in death by her husband, Matt; her parents; sister, Paula; brother, Mathias; and 2 infant brothers.
