He was born Nov. 1, 1946, in Orestes, the son of Charlie M. and Edna (Smith) Allen. He worked production at Delco Remy for 30 years before retiring in 1993. He earned his real estate broker's license, working in real estate for 20 years.
He was a strong Christian believer. He liked to run, hunt, fish and visit with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his two children, Ron (Adora) Allen Jr. and Tami (Steve) Fridley, all of Anderson; three siblings, Terry (Char) Allen of Pendleton, Sandy (Don) Cooper of Columbus, Charlene "Peaches" (Jack) Eutsler of Columbus; three grandchildren, Ronnie (Michaela) Allen III of El Paso, Texas, Garrett Allen and Mackenzie Fridley, both of Anderson; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Linda L. Allen, who died Nov. 23, 2013.
Graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 15, 2020, at East Maplewood Cemetery with Pastor Doug Stein officiating.
Memorial contributions may be given to American Heart Association.
