Linda Kay Chisum was born Sunday, June 27, 1943 in Wewoka, Oklahoma the daughter of Guy Olen and Ellen (Frazer) Kiker. She passed this life on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Hillcrest Hospital South in Tulsa. She was 76 years, 11 months and 15 days of age.

The former Miss Linda Kay Kiker was a 1961 graduate of Comanche, Oklahoma. She married Troy Chisum on November 10, 1962 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Kay was employed as a Property Specialist with the Department of Housing and Development for over 30 years.

Kay had an enthusiasm for life and did everything wholeheartedly. When she smiled, her whole face lit up, and when she laughed, which she did often, it was an infectious, whole-bodied, belly laugh. She loved to learn and try new things. Even up to her death, she had plans for the classes to she wanted to complete and the projects she wanted to finish.

Kay also loved her family and friends passionately. She celebrated everyone’s birthdays and anniversaries by sending just the right card. Her adult grandchildren still received a Valentine’s Day card with a $10 bill from her every year. One of her love languages was certainly gift giving. If a loved one ever mentioned that they wanted something, even in an offhand way, she always went out and found it at a bargain to give to them on their next visit. Whatever Kay did, whether embroidering pillows or collecting Rustic Cuff bracelets or loving her family, she did with unreserved excitement and enthusiasm.

She was an active member of the Woodlake Church.
