Delph Lewis Smith was the oldest of seven children born to Robert Uel Smith and Emma Bell Eilliot Smith both of Texas. The family moved to New Mexico, where several of his siblings were born and then on to California where he met and married Wilma Lucile Atteberry. Delph and Wilma had three children, they celebrated their 50th wedding aniversary with family and friends. Delph died at the age of 82 and is buried next to his wife, who followed him about 17 years later.
