ANDREW JOSEPH PINELLI Andrew Joseph Pinelli passed away peacefully at his home, on Sunday, May 13, 2018, at the age of 64. Andrew was born in Jersey City and was a lifelong resident. He was employed by the City of Jersey City for over thirty years as a purchasing agent, a weapons instructor for the police department and most recently, for the Jersey City Health Department. Andrew was also a longtime communicant of St. Joseph's Church. He loved Jersey City and children, giving of his time as a volunteer in many youth groups throughout the city, including his volunteer work with the National Crime Prevention Council Program as "McGruff the Crime Dog". Andrew is predeceased by his parents, Maria and Joseph Pinelli. He is survived by his loving partner, Janine Nunez, cousins, Joseph and John Villanella, as well as many other cousins too numerous to mention. He will be missed by many throughout Jersey City and his parish community. Visitation will be held at McLaughlin Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, from 4 to 8 PM. Cremation will follow privately. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church at a time to be announced.
