Newton Albright, 80, retired farmer, died yesterday at the Bryant Nursing Home, Chanute, following an illness of several years.
Mr. Albright was born in Riley County Dec 9, 1880 and spent his boyhood in that community. He was married to Sarah Dunnington, Jan 28, 1905, at Atlanta, MOA., and they continued to farm until moving to Humboldt to make their home in 1942.
There he was employed for nine years by the Self Service Grocery. He retired in 1954. His wife preceded him in death in 1959. Mr. Albright was a member of the Christian Church at Humboldt.
He leaves his daughter, Mrs. John Billings, Humboldt; two sisters, Mrs. Ella Dunnington, Atlanta, Mo., and Mrs. Edith Harmon, Detroit, Mich., and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be conducted by the Rev. Bob Young at 2 p.m. Friday in the Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery.
