Alexander was pronounced dead on arrival at Crosbyton Hospital February 2 at about 2:10 p.m. A retired farmer, he had lived most of his life in Dickens County. He was born in Round Timber, Texas on May 29, 1909. He married the former Minnie Mae Smith in Crosbyton on January 27, 1945.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie Mae Alexander, Spur; a son, Don Alexander, Houston; two daughters, Maurine Viggers, Houston, Dortha Caylor, Genesee, Pennsylvania; five step-sons, Jack Smith, Monahans; Billy Smith, Granbury; Troyce and Charlie Smith, both of Spur; J.O. Adcock, Corpus Christi, one sister, Eva Hussey, California and 27 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Grandsons served as pallbearers. Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery with Campbell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
