Born in Yancey County to the late Earl Warner Hughes and Lola Mafra Hensley Hughes, Alice worked as a sander at Ethan Allen. She loved to watch Lifetime movies and game shows. She enjoyed spending time with her friends, and she loved her family very much.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Diane Laws; and a brother, Arnold Hughes.
Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Michael Massey and Donald Massey; one granddaughter, Jessica Massey; and three sisters, Eloise Blankenship, Katie Ledford (Carl), and Carolyn Burnette; and her beloved canine companion, Tipper.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 21, 2020 at Beam Funeral Service & Crematory in Marion from 3:00 until 4:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 22, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Hughes Cemetery in Burnsville.
