Christopher McQueen Black of Fairfax, passed away on August 24, after a brief illness at the age of 71. A native of San Anselmo, Christ attended Sir Francis Drake High School, UC Riverside and received a Doctorate in Classical Languages from University of Pennsylvania. He taught at the University of Oregon, and became a prolific author, mostly of children's fiction. He also worked as an accountant, the Black family profession for 3 generations. He is survived by is brothers Alan Black of Daly City; Peter Black of Mill Valley; his aunt Margaret Kruse of Kentfield; and his nephew Eric Black of San Francisco.
