Missouri I. McCormack
Missouri Isabelle McCormack, daughter of Alexander and Irene McCormack was born
near Pollock in Sullivan county, March 13 , 1869 and died at the home of her daughter,
Mrs. Bessie Schoonover, near Pollock, on July 16, 1946 at the age of 77 years, 4 months
and 3 days.
On November 28, 1886 she was united to James M. Wyant, and to this union five children
were born; Mrs. Bessie Schoonover, Ezza M Wyant, Mrs. Emma McDonald, and Mrs.
Elva Babbitt all of Pollock, and all of whom were at her beside at the time of her death.
Her husband preceded her in death September 2, 1917, and one son Alfred, died
November 27, 1917.
On October 20, 1922, she was married to Sturgas Babbitt, who died on September 3,
1937. January 24, 1969 she was married to Alfred Woodward, who died May 14, 1944.
She is survived by her children, one brother Charles McCormack, 13 grandchildren, 3
great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. She was a member of the
Christian church.
Services were held at the Fairview church on Thursday afternoon, July 18, by Rev. Basil
Sinclair. Music was by Lawrence Tucker, Jimmy Glidewell, Mrs. Chas. Atwood, Mrs.
Johnny Campbell, Mrs. Oval Yardley, Mrs. Chas. Morgan, Mrs. Pete Camp, with Mrs.
Fay Creason at the piano. The bearers were all grandsons, Donald and Delbert McDonald,
James, Burton and Burnice Schoonover, Melvin and Leland Wyant and Keith Babbitt.
Burial was in the Campbell cemetery.
