He served in Army during the Korean War.
He was employed as a merchandise buyer for Zayre Corp. in Framingham for 20 years.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia A. Porter; sons, John C. Porter and Kevin M. Porter both of Framingham; daughters, Donna Konopka of East Douglas, MA and Karen Clain and Patricia A. Johnstone both of Framingham; brother, Donald A. Porter of Natick, MA; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Porter; and sister, Dolly Robare.

SERVICES: Visitation will be Aug. 27 at Eugene J. McCarthy and Sons Funeral Home, Framingham. A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Aug. 28 in St. George's Church, Framingham. Burial will follow in Edgell Grove Cemetery in Framingham.
