ELMER A. CLARK
BELLEFONTAINE -- Elmer Arthur Clark, 100, a former Bellefontaine resident, died early Thursday in Richmond, Indiana.
Mr. Clark was born April 22, 1879, in Ripley, O., a son of Albert and Arabelle Brown Clark. He worked as a station engineer for the Nestle Co. for nine years and as a fireman at the former New York Central roundhouse. For 15 years he served as a custodian and traffic watchman for the Hubbard School on E. Columbus Ave.
He was a member of the Grace AME church, where he served as a trustee, and was a member of the York Rite Masons No. 21 of Columbus.
He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. T.H. (Consuelo) Simpson, Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Elwood (Thelma) Walker, Richmond, Ind., Mrs. Cletus (Elmerlean) Rogers, Springfield and Mrs. Edward (Ernestine) Sprott, Beaumont, Texas; 16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
His wife, Maggie Huffman Clark, died in 1961. Two children, three sisters and two brothers also are deceased.
Friends may call at the Kennedy Funeral Home, Bellefontaine, today from 7 to 9 pm. Services will be conducted there Sunday at 2 pm by the Rev. Earl E. Hicks.
Burial will be in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
