Gunnard A. Enroth , 79, HIBBING —

Funeral services for Gunnard A. Enroth, 79, of Hibbing, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002 at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing. The Rev. Peter Muhich will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing. Pallbearers are Thomas Enroth, Jennifer Woodman, Jill Enroth, Tess Enroth, Joshua Savolainen, Rachel Savolainen, Steven Avery and Andrew Avery. Honary pallbearers include Katherine Avery, Sarah Avery and Amanda Avery.

He died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2002 at the University Medical Center-Mesabi. He was born on Oct. 21, 1922 to Eleanor (Edwards) and Gunnard Enroth Sr. in Hibbing. He was a lifelong resident of Hibbing. He was married to his wife, Jeanne, for 56 years. He was employed as a depot agent for the DM & IR Railroad. He was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, the VFW Post 8510 and the DAV. He was a charter member of the Tower Chamber of Commerce, and a past Exulted Ruler of the Elks Lodge 1022, and a past member of the Hibbing Moose Lodge. He spent the winter season in Honolulu, Hawaii, and his summers at Lake Vermilion. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling as hobbies.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Enroth of Hibbing; three sons: Dennis Enroth of Keewatin, Carl Enroth of St. Paul, Minn., and Gerald (Joanne) Enroth of Hibbing; two daughters, Marilyn Savolainen of Hibbing and Paulette (Randy) Tupa of Virginia; brother, Charled Enroth of Bloomington, Minn.; one sister, Marilyn (Stanley) Hanson of Chatfield, Minn.; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Clifford Enroth; and daughter, Jeannine Avery.
