She was the daughter of Daniel Thomas and Bertha F. (Cappa) Powlen. Doris was a 1975 graduate of Logansport High School. She worked as a CPA and Controller for several companies. She was passionate about rescuing cats and had several at various times.
Survivors include her mother, Bertha Selders; her brother, David Powlen & wife Dr. Miriam Lango; two nephews, Brooks (Christine) Powlen; Neil Powlen; a great niece, Hailey; and several cousins.
Her father preceded her in death.
