street, the same day he was to have
started work as caretaker at the city
garbage dump, to which position he was
appointed Wednesday night by Mayor Munshower.
Mr Aumen's death came at 1 o'clock,
four hours after he had been awarded
the position.

Within nine hours of his death, the
city had received five applications for
his job.

Mr Aumen's death was rather unexpected,
although he had not been well
for the past two weeks. His illness was
due to complications. Besides his wife,
he is survived by two children, Emma
and Bruce Aumen, at home.
