Alfred Richard Dietsch, 76, formerly of West Burlington, Iowa, died at 4:45 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2009 at Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Born January 14, 1933 in Burlington, Iowa, he was the son of William Dewey and Lena R. Moyer Dietsch. On March 28, 1953, he married Virginia Huddleston in Kahoka, Missouri. She died on September 17, 1967.

Alfred was an Army veteran. He was a lead electrician for Oscar Mayer Corp. in Davenport, Iowa, for 37 years. He enjoyed radio controlled airplanes, golf and tinkering with electricity. He was of the Protestant faith.

Survivors include three sons, Scott P. Dietsch of of New Port Richey, Florida, Brian Todd Dietsch of Davenport, Iowa and Darren Lee Dietsch of Wesley Chapel, Florida; two daughters, Alfreda Robertson of Denmark, Iowa and Virginia Jones of Walker, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; four brothers, Francis, Kenneth, Wilford and Lloyd; two sisters, Darlene Wasson and Geraldine Larga.
