John F. Bode, 72, 139 East Wylie Ave., Washington, died Thursday, July 20, at 11 a.m. following a short illness. Mr. Bode was a blacksmith and had resided in Washington for the past 22 years.
He was born in Pittsburgh, March 2, 1871, a son of Frederick and Augusta Kaufmann Bode, and he was a member of the Washington Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Clara S. Bode; a son, Norman J. Bode, Canonsburg; three sisers, Emmas Holleman, Pittsburgh; gussie Holden, Indianapolis, Ind; and Miss Anna Bode, Meadville; a brother, William, Meadville, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the A. Blaine Day Funeral Home, Washington, Sunday, July 23, in the charge of the Rev. John H. Debolt, pastor of the West Washington Methodist Church.
