Son of John Bear and Emily (Scott) Piatt. Aged 20 years.

The family lived in Clinton Township, Franklin County, OH, during the 1850 US Census, but had removed to Shelby County, Illinois before 1856. William apparently returned to Ohio for a visit and died here. Interred in Armbruster Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery, Clinton Township. He is among those for whom there is no record of reinterment when the old churchyard was cleared around 1909. It is believed these people remain in place because immediate family could not be located.
Buried first in Clinton Chapel cemetery Franklin co OH possibly moved to Greenlawn or Union cemetery
