The son of Martha Helen Murray Brown of Washington, D.C., and the late Dr. Samuel L. Brown, Mr. Brown was born March 22, 1947, in Washington, D.C., where he was reared in addition to Rochester, Michigan. He earned a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland.
Mr. Brown served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and with the Army Reserve Special Forces, where he was a member of the Green Berets. He subsequently served with the Maryland National Guard.
For 27 years he was employed with the Joseph E. Seagram/Diageo Corporation. He was a member of the St. Andrew by the Bay Catholic Church, National Rifle Association, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the Knights of Columbus Council 11552, where he was a fourth degree Knight.
His interests included white water kayaking, fencing, fishing, camping and technology.
Surviving are his wife of 25 years, Diane Dayton Brown, whom he married Aug. 21, 1982; his Mother Martha Murray Brown; three daughters, Donna Michelle, Laura Marie and Carolyn Ann Brown, all of Severna Park; and three brothers, Christopher O. Brown of Sylvania, Ohio, Stephen M. Brown of Tacoma Park, Md., and Timothy S. Brown of Washington, D.C.
