Chester James Dorothy, 91, Fairfield, died 6:10 a.m. today at the Jefferson County Hospital. He had been seriously ill for one year.
Burial with Military rites in the Glasgow Cemetery, Glasgow.
Dorothy was born July 11, 1896 near Stockport, the son of James and Ellie Weaver Dorothy. He married to Erma Loving June 29, 1943. She died May 23, 1981. He married Irene Seawalt March 23, 1985 in Memphis, MO. He lived most of his life in Van Buren and Jefferson counties. He was a farmer, well digger, and had retired as a government inspector from the Ordnance Plant at Middletown. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War I and a member of Big Cedar Christian Church.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Luella Keck, 3 stepdaughters; Marge Maddix, Virginia Poling, Betty Schimmelpfenning; 11 step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; 3 brothers Raymond, Floyd and Glen; and a sister, Nellie Mahon. 2 brothers and 2 great-grandchildren preceded him in death.
