On October 13, 1859 she was married to Jesse Axtell in Dennmark, Ohio, with whom she lived happily for over 50 years. In 1860 Mr. and Mrs. Axtell moved to Cedar County, Iowa and six years later moved to Deep River, Iowa. In 1879 they moved to Axtell, Kansas where they lived until 1886 when they took up their residence in Blue Rapids, Kansas.
After a short illness at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Chloe E. Molby at Barnes, Kansas, Mrs. Axtell passed to her eternal reward August 31, 1910. She joined the Presbyterian Church early in life and remained true and steadfast until her death. She was a good Christian wife and mother. Deceased was the mother of ten children, three dying in infancy: Silas Elwood (died age 3), Cyrus Elmer (died age 5) and Emma Mertice (died 5 months 25 days). She leaves a bereaved husband and seven children: Carrie Luella (Hunter), Eunice Ida (Mattern), Carson Augustus Axtell, Chloe Frances (Molby), A Gertrude (Loomis), Willis Edwin Axtell and Clinton Jesse Axtell all of whom were present at the funeral services, which were held at the late home of the deceased in Blue Rapids, Kansas, September 2, conducted by d by Rev. D. E. Ambrose. Internet was in the Fairmont Cemetery.
