FERRIS, Services for T.B. "Tip" Riley, 82, a longtime Ferris resident, were 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at First United Methodist Church of Ferris, 101 Redbud St.

Born Oct. 27, 1923 in McKinney, he died Sun-day, March 12, 2006 at his residence.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Ferris.

He served two terms on the Ferris City Council from May 1995 to May 1999.

He was Ferris mayor pro-tem May 1996 to May 1997.

He served in World War II.

"Tip" served in Patton's 3rd Army during World War II and was station in Germany and France from 1944-1946. He was a sharpshooter and was assigned to an anti-aircraft artillery unit.

Following his tour of duty, he returned to his home in Frisco.

He moved his family to Ferris in 1964.

He was a member of the Lions Club and Masonic Lodge of Ferris, honored with the Community Builder Award in March 2002.

He was employed as a fleet service clerk with American Airlines.

After retiring in 1983, he spent time with family, and woodworking, gardening and traveling.

Preceded in death by his parents, several brothers and sisters, and one grandson.

He is survived by his wife Pat; three sons, John Riley of Ferris, Thomas and wife Rhonda Riley of Red Oak, and Ray Riley of College Station; one brother J.C. Riley of Honeygrove; one sister Edith Calverley of Terrell; four grandsons, Michael Riley of Waxahachie, Marcus Riley of Richardson, Matthew Riley of Allen and Clayton Riley of College Station; and one granddaughter Julianne Riley of College Station.

Burial was at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas.
