Ryan Alan Brown

A native of Winona and Stew­art, Ryan Alan Brown died of a heart attack at his home on Folly Beach, S.C., Monday, Jan. 15, 2001. Born in Winona June 16, 1966, Ryan was 34 years old.

He is survived by his parents, Joan and Terry Brown of Winona; one sister, Anita Brown of Gulfport; three brothers, Terry Brown of Lexington, Jim Brown of Santa Cruz, Bolivia, and Pat Brown of Oxford; four nieces, Morgan and Alex Brown of Eupora, Katherine Ann Brown of Lexington, and Virginia Brown of Oxford; and two nephews. Will Brown of Lex­ington and Scott Brown of Oxford.

Ryan worked in Charleston. S.C. at Carolina's Restaurant and The Blind Tiger pub. He attended the University of Mississippi in Oxford where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity, He was a graduate of Winona Academy high school in 1984, and was attending Charleston College in Charleston, S.C.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001 at 2 p.m. in Winona at the Moore Memori­al Methodist Church with the Rev. Randy Owen and the Rev. A.G. Clark officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery in Winona. Lee Funeral Home of Winona was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Chico Harris of Oxford, Mark McLarty of New Albany, Hamp Hughes of Tupelo, Jerry Flowers of Winona, James Richardson of Memphis, Tenn., and Dave Ross, Dennis Ward, and Russell French, all of Charleston.

Honorary pallbearers were Jeff Latham, Jack Diette, Tim Collins, and Pat White.

Memorials may be made in Ryan's name to the Winona Christian School, Hwy. 51 South, Winona, MS 38967.
