Douglas Alexander age 67, of Arnolds Park, IA died Sunday, July 5, 2020, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

A drive-thru visitation will take place Thursday, July 9th from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. with the family present at Calvary Methodist Church at Arnolds Park, IA.

Private funeral service and burial will take place at 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 10th at Holman Township Cemetrey in Sibley, IA with Rev. Paul Frederiksen, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to be directed at a later date.

Douglas Ray Alexander was born on February 10, 1953, at Worthington, MN the son of Ray and Darlene (Brody) Alexander. He grew up on a farm northeast of Sibley and attended Sibley Community Schools and graduated in 1971 from Sibley High School. He continued his education at the University of Iowa, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. He moved to California and was employed by Cost Plus Imports for over 20 years. After the passing of his mother, he moved back to Sibley. Doug made many business trips to China over the years, where he met Helen and fell in love. Doug was united in marriage to Helen Liu on November 10, 2000, at Sibley, IA. Doug owned and operated Alex International, a global sourcing company, with a focus on outdoor and hunting products. Doug had a love for hunting his entire life, and he made sure to pass on that love to his children, whom he hunted with as often as he could. Doug enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, smoking a good cigar, maintaining his farm, and sharing and acting upon his political beliefs. Doug died this past Sunday evening, July 5, 2020, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. He will be greatly missed, blessed be his memory.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Alexander of Arnolds Park, IA; their three sons, David, John, & William Alexander all of Arnolds Park, IA; one sister, Linda (Dave) Hansen of New Ulm, MN; two brothers, Robert (Shan) Alexander of Sibley, IA and Paul (Pam) Alexander of Sibley, IA; along with one aunt and uncle, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Darlene.
