She married David A. Armstrong on Jul 28, 1902 in Henderson, Minnesota at St. Paul's Evangelical Church. They had eight children: Donald A. (1904-1968), Baby Boy (1905-1905), Dorothy M. Wert Bradley (1906-1968), Harold (1908-1908) [twin], William K. (1908-1963) [twin], Frederick S. (1910-1912), Gladys (1912-1996), and Lewis H. (1913-1970).

A coffee party was given in honor of Mrs. Emma Armstrong to celebrate her 86th birthday Sunday, Aug. 23 at the home of her oldest son, Donald Armstrong, 227 N. Side. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. David Armstrong and Arla, Mrs. Peter Tautges and Donald and Elin Armstrong. Cake was served and Mrs. Armstrong enjoyed opening her gifts. A cake was also enjoyed at the Sixth Avenue Rest Home Sunday, which Mrs. Tautges baked and took there, for her mother and friends.
On Tuesday, August 25, Mrs. Gerald Schubert 809 Eighth St. entertained with coffee and cake for her grandmother and friends. Guests were Mrs. Peter Tauges, Jackie and Butch Schubert, great grandchildren of Mrs. Armstrong, Mrs. Ronald Schubert and three children, Gary, Bobby and Linda, and Mrs. Ellen Schend.
Mrs. Armstrong was the former Emma Goms and was married to the late D.A. Armstrong, July 28, 1902, in Minnesota. She came to Havre at the age of 23 where she lived for several years before they moved to a homestead 10 miles south of Havre. She has raised five children.

Funeral services for Emma Armstrong were conducted Saturday [Jan 9] afternoon at the Holland and Bonine Funeral Home with the Rev. Virtus Young pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church officiating.
Donna Ellison sang "Beautiful Savior" and "The Lord is my Shepherd," accompanied by Mrs. Leo Konopatzke.
Pallbearers were Giles Gregoire, Ronald Schubert, John Anderson, Carl Waid, Miles Gridley and Bud Holsapple. Ushers were Robert Waid and Scotty Lucke.
Interment was in Highland Cemetery.
