HAVRE – TAUTGES, Peter Herbert, 69, died in Havre hospital Thursday [Apr 8]. Rosary will be held at Holland and Bonine Funeral Home at 7 p.m. and Requiem Mass will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Jude's Catholic Church. He is survived by his widow, Gladys; a daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Dorothy) Schubert; a son, James, Havre, and three sisters. Tautges was born in Delano, Minn. His parents homesteaded in the Beaver Creek area, 11 miles south of Havre in 1912. On March 3, 1934, he married Gladys Armstrong in Havre. He was a World War I veteran. Upon discharge he was engaged as an express messenger on the Great Northern Railway. He later farmed until his retirement in 1962.

Rosary was conducted for Peter Tautges Monday [Apr 12] evening at the Holland and Bonine funeral home with Requiem Mass Tuesday [Apr 13] morning at St. Jude's Catholic Church by Rev. George French, S.J.
Pallbearers were Scott Lucke, Dan Heitne, Carl Waid, Clarence Lathrop, Giles Gregoire and John Anderson. Honorary pallbearers were Henry Pagel, Miles Gridley, Ira Holsapple, Paul Gerzovich, I. Tronjum, Albert Carlson, Cal Mooney, and Robert Sievertson. Ushers were Scott Lucke, Jr., and Stuart Herron.
Military graveside services were conducted in Calvary cemetery. Representing the American Legion Post No. 11 were Robert Sharp, Clyde Gillen, Myron Ophus, and Hjalmar Larson. The VFW was represented by Richard Olstad and Robert Blake.
The National Guard firing detail was command by Sgt. James Pasma and was John Wagner, Steven Harris, Patrick Sticke, Fred Korb, Terry Johnson, Lynn Maxfield, and Stanley …heim. Bugler was Mike Farley.
