He was born in Monroe, LA, and moved to Elizabethton when he was six years old. Mr. Grant was a son of Charlie Mae Bowman Grant, Elizabethton, and the late Willie Alfred Grant. He enjoyed antique cars, gun collecting and spending time with his favorite dog, Charlie. Mr. Grant had worked as a mechanic for Tri State Container and retired from Triad Packaging, Bristol.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one son, Jason Christopher Grant; and one great-granddaughter, Kennedy Noel Crumly.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Carin Grant, of the home; two sons, Phillip Grant, Adam Grant, both of Florida; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Charlene Marie and Hugh Hudgins, Smyrna, TN, Natalie Cornett, Piney Flats, Teresa and Rick Stevens, Johnson City; eight grandchildren: Danielle Jenkins, David Jenkins, Anthony Jenkins, Michael Bastin Jr., Justin Stevens, Emily Jenkins, Jeremy Stevens, Joshua Stevens; one sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Ralph Simmons, Johnson City; two brothers and one sister-in-law, James Grant, Morganton, NC, and Gary and Kathy Grant, Elizabethton; Several nieces and nephews also survive.
