Mallie Jane Hubnik, 94, of Brownwood and formerly of Odessa died July 10 in a Brownwood hospital. Funeral services were held July 14 at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Marak with the Rev. Walter Matus officiating. Burial followed in the Sts. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery.
Hubnik, a homemaker.
She was born July 5, 1913 in Bomarton to John A. and Adele (Geryk) Marak.
She married Paul Hubnik, Jr. Nov. 21, 1938 and he preceded her in death in October of 1986.
She and her husband moved to Odessa in 1950 and served as a volunteer in St. Mary's and Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. She was a 50 year member of K.J.Z.T.
She was also preceded in death by sons, Ernest and Michael; grandchildren, Gaines William and Dominique Hubnik; three sisters and one brother.
Survivors include daughters, Paulette Foster and husband, James, of Cross Plains; Eleanor Mitcham and husband, Dickie, of Odessa and Joanie Ward and husband, James of Ft. Stockton; daughter-in-law Sallye Hubnik of Odessa; brother, Henry Marak and wife, Helen, of Shreveport, LA.; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
