Barbara was born in Upland, Pennsylvania the daughter of Arthur and Barbara (Cross) Greenman. She celebrated her 89th birthday on June 29th. She graduated from Eddystone High School (PA) in 1950.
On June 24, 1950 she married Wayne Lee Rumbel in Elkton, Maryland. He predeceased her on September 17, 2002. They lived in Chester and Trainer, PA until 1964 when they moved to Flint, MI for his job with Dupont.
Barbara was employed by the Philadelphia Bulletin, Philadelphia, PA, The Delaware County Times, Chester, PA, Standard Cotton, Flint, Summerfield Chevrolet, Flint, Al Serra Chevrolet, Grand Blanc and retired from Clark Equipment Company. She was very active in the community holding several office and committee positions in Quota International. She was also active in Allegro at the Flint Institute of Music.
She loved knitting and made hundreds of pairs of socks for her family, as well as friends. She loved to travel, attending the theater, and reading. She traveled extensively all over the country and world with her Quota friends.
Surviving to her memory are: Lois (Kelly) Revenaugh, Lehighton, PA, Wayne (Linda Robbins) Rumbel, Grand Blanc, Gene (Kathy Nedela) Rumbel, Davison and Barbara (Rich) Childs, Flint. Grandchildren, Tori (Darren) Petterson, Grand Haven, Rob (Margeaux Rosinski) Rumbel, Gaylord, Merissa Rumbel, Davison, Mackenzie Rumbel and fiancé Joshua Vanderpipe, Kaneohe, Hawaii. Step grandchildren, Tyler Childs, Clio and Joel Childs, Flint. Great grandchildren, Hailey and Jake Petterson, and Bella and Logan Rumbel. Step great grandchild, Elise Childs.
