Ione H. Alferness, age 84, of Columbia Heights, died March 7, 2003 of a heart attack in Mission Viejo, CA. She was a loving “young” lady who will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.
Preceded in death by her husband, Alferd; son, Terry Husby & his wife Sally; sister, Rosalind Sala; brothers, Clifford, Leland, Chester and Ronald Melgren.
Survived by son, ; grandchildren; great-grandchildren, sister, Loretta Hagerman; brothers, Raymond Melgren (Mary), Earl Mellgren (Rosie), Laverne Melgren (Betty), Donald Melgren (Gloria) and many nieces & nephews.
Visitation 5-8 pm Friday, March 14 at the Peterson-Stohlberg Hillside Chapel, 2610 19th Ave NE, Mpls, and one hour prior to service at church on Saturday. Funeral service 11 am Saturday, March 15 at St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church, 825 51st Ave. NE, Columbia Heights. Memorials preferred to St. Timothy’s, American Cancer Society, or donor’s choice.
