Frances C. (Goldsmith) Clark
Mrs. Omar I. Clark died at her residence near this place, aged 50 years and 2 days. She was born in Port Gibson, Ontario County, New York, her maiden name being Frances C. Goldsmith. She came to Indiana with her parents in 1848 and settled in Steuben County.
On May 4, 1853 she was married to Mr. Clark. Two children survive her, a son, Oscar and a daughter, Mrs. Shackford, of Auburn. She was a sister of Mrs. J.G. Brown and Mrs. A.A. Lovejoy of Angola. Mrs. Clark had been in poor heath for a year or more, but was confined to her bed only about two weeks. The funeral occurred Monday at 10 o'clock from the residence and was largely attended, Rev. J.A. Dobson of Angola, officiating.
