In loving memory of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Winifred Hawley, who passed away January 16, 2009, at the age of 90. She was born September 19, 1918, in Jackson, MI.
Mrs. Hawley liked spending quiet time at home with her family. She also enjoyed helping people, which was evident at the East Lansing Senior Center, where she had been a volunteer secretary for more than 10 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Max in 1997, and two sons, Thomas in 1999 and Dennis in 1992. Mrs. Hawley was the mother to: daughter, Suzanne Ogbu of Lansing and son, Douglas Hawley of Greenbrae, CA; the grandmother to: Lori Lindow, Michelle Hawley, Ellen Craghead, Grant Ogbu, Maureen Ogbu and Michael Hawley; the great-grandmother to: Joshua and Samuel Craghead; and the sister to Wanda Restau of Lansing.
There will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the East Lansing Senior Center, 819 Abbott Road, East Lansing, MI 48823 in memory of Winifred Hawley. Arrangements by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.
