Mr. Sanders was a retired blacksmith and a prominent resident of the city where he had made his home for the past fifty years. He was a faithful and active member of the First Baptist Church. Services were conducted by Rev. Clarence Morris from the Sanders residence. Pallbearers were Messrs W. E. Hamilton, E. H. Causey, Thomas Smith, D. L. Russell, D. B. Greenlee, and E. H. Komrumphf.
Mr. Sanders was born on January 25, 1869 in Amite County.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ada Holmes Sanders, by two daughters, Mrs. Joseph Fitzpatrick, New Orleans, and Miss Anna Dora Sanders, McComb; by one son, W. T. Sanders, McComb; by three stepdaughters, Mrs. Buddy Friend and Mrs. R. T. Andrews, both of Detroit; and Mrs. Bernice Scott, Pineville, La.; and by three step-son's,; Leslie Holmes, Natchez, Archie Holmes, Ferriday, La., and Clyde Holmes, McComb.
He is also survived by eight grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Cely Ann Atchison, Liberty.
Interment was In Hollywood cemetery with Catchings Funeral Home in charge.
