Margaret A. Davis, 81, of Blue Point, known as Peg to her friends, died peacefully on July 11, 2020. Peg was a loving wife and mother, devoted to her family and friends.
Peg was born to Howard and Margaret (Byrne) Flugmacher in Ozone Park and moved to Blue Point with her husband, Ed in 1965. She earned her nursing degree from Suffolk Community College and worked until retirement at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital.
She enjoyed boating, swimming, reading, and camping. Ed and Peg traveled in their RV to Alaska and most of the National Parks, but their favorite trips were with friends from the Winnie Tasca and Island Hopper camping groups. She was an active member of the Ladies Auxilliary of the Blue Point Fire Department for many years.
Peg leaves behind her children Patrick and Lori (Gibson) Davis, Peggy and Ken Powell; grandchildren Alexandra Davis, Samantha Davis, Stephen and Lauren (Jackson) Powell, Tommy Powell; great-grandson Charlie Powell; brothers Bobby and Regina (Martinelli) Flugmacher and Howie and Anne (Mollica) Flugmacher. Edward Davis, her husband of 60 years, passed away in October 2019.
The family would like to thank the staff of Brookhaven Health Care Facility for their kindness and care during her final illness.
