Berta Mae Adams

Mrs. Berta Mae Adams, 76, Tallahatchie County native and Winona housewife, died Saturday morning, December 3, 1988, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis from complications resulting from brain surgery after a lengthy illness.

She is survived by her husband, Herbert Adams of Winona; a daughter, Mrs. Jean Kendrick of Winona; a son, Frank Adams of Huntsville, Ala.; two sisters, Mrs. Eva Steverson of Southaven and Mrs. Minnie Worsham of Charleston; three brothers, Roger Robertson, Raymond Robertson and Ray Roberson, all of Charleston; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Memorial services were conducted from First Presbyterian Church of Winona, where she was a member, at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, December 4. The Rev. Dr. Harold Richardson preached. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were John Sumner, Judge James Sumner, Paul Pittman, Jim Williamson, Wayne Gaines, Ed Forsythe, James Tollison, Terry Howard and Lamar Shelton. Honorary pallbearers were elders of First Presbyterian Church. Oliver Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
