Edward Lamar Adams, Jr.

Edward Lamar Adams, Jr., 61, a Long Beach hardware store manager and owner for 35 years, died Thursday, March 23, 1989, at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport after a lengthy battle with cancer.

The Montgomery County native attended First Baptist Church of Long Beach.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Doris J. Adams of Long Beach, a daughter Ginger S. Adams of Long Beach, three sons, Edward J. Adams, Jr., Ronald L. Adams and Joel M. Adams, all of Long Beach, a sister, Mrs. Norma Melton of Winona, three brothers, The Rev. Marion Adams of Appleton, Wisc., Dr. Bobby Adams of Meridian and Wayne Adams of Yazoo City, and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted from Oliver Funeral Home chapel at 2 p.m. Monday, March 27. Dr. David Spencer preached. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Michael Adams, Cris Adams, Robert Adams, David Adams, Tim Adams, Steve Adams and Kenny Melton. Oliver Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
